What is it?

The MVRCS Student Action Club is a club designed for students in grades K-8 and led by our high school students through their Student Action Service Club (the high school's Student Action Service Club is a seperate entity). The program is divided into groups by age and gender. Each group is designated a specific day & time. All sessions include an hour of arts and crafts and an hour of gym. We also play a variety of enjoyable games that promote sportsmanship and team building.

What is its mission?

The Mission of the club is to provide Mystic Valley’s students in grades nine through twelve with the opportunity to provide service to the school community, and at the same time, develop their leadership capabilities as well as to act as a feeder program to future MVRCS sports programs.

How often does it run?

There are three 7-8 week sessions with a week off in-between sessions. Session one is Lacrosse, session two is Floor Hockey and session three is Basketball and Wiffleball.

Where do I get an application?

A few weeks before the session begins the application will come home with your child.

Where and when should I send it back?

Applications MUST be mailed to: MVRCS, Attn: Mrs. Nicole Rubin, P.O. Box 545, Malden, MA 02148. It is first come first serve and we usually reach capacity within 48 hours!!

How do I know if my child was accepted?

The week before the session begins your child will either get their money back or will bring home an acceptance letter. If you should not receive one or the other please contact Mrs. Nicole Rubin at nrubin@mvrcs.org.

Should I send in an extra drink/snack?

Yes, only if your child will be participating in the art program. We do not allow students to eat in the gym.

What is the cost?

This program has been designed to be inexpensive & fun for all! The cost per session will be $25.00. So if your child participated in all three sessions it would only cost you $75.00 for the whole year!

Is there an adult over seeing the high school students?

Yes, Mrs. Nicole. Rubin runs the program and Mrs. Michele Amari is her assistant. They also have class representatives who also help in supervising the rooms.
